Underwriting directive

Lloyd's framework compliance v4.2

To finalise international asset transfer and protect physical works against transit forgery, loss or unauthorised duplication, the originating studio must execute a localised Digital Certificate of Art Provenance (DCAP).

The signature secures your copyright title deed on the asset ledger before dispersal. One certificate is serialised per registered work.

The charge settles on the registrar layer, outside the escrow — which is why it is not deducted from the settlement figure.

Why this is paid in crypto, not card

The certificate serial is written to a public chain. That is the whole point of it — it is what lets the underwriter, or anyone else, verify the serial independently and permanently, without asking us.

Card processors sit outside that layer. A card payment can't write to a chain, so it can't serialise anything. That is why ETH or BTC is used and card isn't offered.

It's a network cost, not a service fee. Gas is what the chain charges to write the record.

Send the exact fee first, then press this. Confirmation is read from the ledger.

How settlement works

Operating schedule · extract

Schedule 2 · settlement architecture

2.1 The escrow principal is held under the escrow contract by the custodian and is releasable only against a bound certificate of provenance.

2.2 Network charges are a separate instrument. They are assessed by the registrar layer, settle peer-to-peer between the originator and the registrar, and never enter the escrow account.

2.3 Because network charges sit outside the escrow they cannot be netted against the principal. This is why the charge is not deducted from the settlement figure.

Schedule 3 · serialisation

3.1 One certificate is serialised per registered work. Serialisation is atomic — partial registration does not release funds.

Schedule 4 · international settlement

4.1 Where the beneficiary account sits outside the trust's jurisdiction, release carries an international settlement levy, assessed once.

Schedule 5 · alteration

5.1 The figure is fixed at funding and cannot be amended without re-underwriting. Manual amendment triggers re-verification and a hold of five to ten business days.
